Sanford Mayor Jeff Triplett robbed at gunpoint, carjacked

Sanford Police have arrested two suspects in the armed robbery and carjacking of Sanford Mayor Jeff Triplett.

The two men have been identified as Damarcus Paige, 17, and Jermine Horne, 18.

Officers say Mayor Triplett was visiting a friend at a home on Chapman Avenue at 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, when three suspects approached Triplett outside of the home.

Officers say the suspects held a gun to Triplett, stole his wallet and his Mercedes-Benz.

Mayor Triplett's car was found damaged.

The Sanford Police Department is actively searching for a third suspect in the carjacking and armed robbery.
