After 64 years, one of Orlando’s iconic dive bars is shutting down.

“It is with great regret that we have decided to close our doors after 64 years in business & great memories,” said the sign, attributed to 'The Wally’s Family'” read a sign posted on the door of Wally’s Mills Avenue Liquors.

Wally’s opened as Orange Liquor No. 2 in 1954 but was later renamed.  It was a quirky mainstay for the night owls of the Orlando bar scene.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Orlando attorney John Morgan was a frequent customer and has expressed an interest in buying the business. The bar and property are now owned by Linda Updike and operated by Martin Snellgrove, according to the newspaper.
