Vehicle burglary turns deadly in Orange County
A car break-in ended with a suspect being shot and killed by an off-duty Orange County corrections officer
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Police Department has arrested a second suspect in connection to the vehicle burglary that happened at an Orlando apartment complex in December.
What we know:
Detectives identified Jackson Similus as the second suspect involved in the alleged vehicle burglary at the Summergate Apartments, located at 4881 Cypress Woods Drive.

Officers originally responded to the scene after there were reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the other suspect, identified as 21-year-old Widlerson Pierre, dead from a gunshot wound.
Pierre was shot while attempting to break into a vehicle.

The individual who fired the shot remained on-site and cooperated with authorities, officials say.
Similus was arrested Monday and charged with 2nd Degree Felony Murder and Burglary of a Conveyance.
