Erythrulose, a sugar that tastes like raspberries, was spotted in interstellar dust clouds. This sugar isn’t essential for life, but it can easily convert to a form that’s thought to be crucial to kick-starting life on Earth. FOX 35's Garrett Wymer speaks with Dr. Jamie Foster, a Full Professor at the UF Department of Microbiology and Cell Science, about the technology that made it happen, as well as what this discovery tells us about the past and future.
