Orlando Pride Superfan: Artist makes posters during every home game
There are super fans…and then there’s Rachel Milbourne. The Space Coast resident sits front and center at every Orlando Pride home game where she creates posters related to the team. “If you commit to one poster per game, I think that's pretty big,” Rachel says. “Like it's a undertaking.” Rachel, 40, sits in the lower bowl, section 15, next to her mother. As soon as she sits down, Rachel is locked in, armed with art materials. “The players noticed because I'm right front of the procession. They started winning and then I realized like I can't not do this. I have to do it as part of like a superstition now.” Rachel’s superstition has now turned into approximately 50 posters. She hasn’t begun to sell them yet, but she turns her creations into magnets and stickers for fans who want a little piece of Pride. Rachel’s schedule revolves around the Orlando Pride schedule. When they’re at Inter & Co Stadium, so is Rachel…and she wouldn’t want it any other way. “Every week I'm like, am I still doing this? Am I really going to wake up and do that tomorrow? I get to wake up and do work that is also what I would do if I were at home. So I think I am pretty lucky.
