Florida's Second Chance Act mandates heart screening before sports activities

Starting in July, all Florida high school students must have a successful heart screening before sports tryouts, conditioning or practice. Under Florida's Second Chance Act, created in memory of Chance Gainer, 18, the law aims to protect children from cardiac arrest.
