Orange County health officials investigate Legionnaires’ cases

State and local health officials are investigating an uptick in Legionnaires’ disease cases in Orange County, but have not identified the source of the outbreak. Health officials say the bacterial infection is a severe form of pneumonia spread through tiny water droplets, often from air-conditioning systems, plumbing or other mist-producing equipment. It is not transmitted from person to person.
