Helping first responders after the Texas tragedy

Helping first responders after the Texas tragedy

Today, local firefighters from Seminole and Orange counties are arriving in Texas to help with recovery efforts following the flooding disaster. More than 100 people are dead and more than 160 are still missing. Dr. Deborah Biedel, a trustee chair and Pegasus professor of psychology and Medical Education at the University of Central Florida, joins Good Day Orlando to talk about UCF Restores, which is a nationally recognized leader in evidence-based trauma treatment and mental health training. Biedel and her team have treated hundreds of first responders at their trauma clinic and often deploy to disaster scenes to provide behavioral health care for them.
