Colleges can pay athletes directly; what's next?
A federal judge approved the House v. NCAA settlement, ushering in a new era of NIL deals and college athletics where schools can directly pay collegiate athletes through revenue sharing. But some of those rules can get confusing, and all NIL deals over $600 must be registered with NIL go, a clearinghouse ran by Deloitte to make sure all compensation is reasonable based on factors like market size and an athletes' social media following. Kristi Dosh, Founder of the Business of College Sports, UF Adjunct Professor and author of The Athlete's NIL Playbook: The Complete Guide to Owning and Profiting from Your Name, Image, and Likeness joins FOX 35's Garrett Wymer on Florida Live to break down the state of NIL in college athletics and the new Congressional bill which aims to create national guidelines for college sports.
