DeBary, Volusia school board in dispute over school site

A proposed new school in DeBary has sparked a legal battle between city officials and the Volusia County School Board. The city rejected the school board’s plan, arguing the location violates state law and would create traffic and safety hazards. In a cease-and-desist letter, city leaders said the site would also come with a hefty price tag and urged the district to reconsider its placement.
