Orange County sheriff's deputies are looking for information about how an alleged brawl and shooting left an 18-year-old shot dead.

One 18-year-old is dead after a shooting at Lakeside Villas Apartments

What we know:

The incident began when deputies arrived at Lakeside Villas for a noise complaint shortly after 11 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2026. Nearly 100 people gathered around a pool behind the complex's leasing office, according to officials.

According to the sheriff's office, a deputy turned on his lights and sirens to disperse the crowd and once the teenagers started to scatter, the deputy heard a single gunshot coming from behind the building.

The deputy found 18-year-old Jordan Lecky unresponsive, having sustained an injury from an apparent gunshot wound. Lecky was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died on Oct. 19, 2026, according to investigators.

Investigators say two witnesses stayed after the shooting to speak with deputies, where they shared that a fight broke out and Jordan got shot.

At least a dozen teenagers witnessed the incident and recorded the incident on their phones, Orange County Sheriff's Office said.

Who shot the gun and who was watching?

What we don't know:

Investigators are asking parents and teens from Orange and Seminole County to watch the video posted on their social media page that shows what happened moments before the shooting. They are hoping to identify the people shown in the video that may be involved.

We don't know who the shooter was, what caused the fight, and the relationship between the victim and the shooter.
