ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Police at the University of Central Florida (UCF) are trying to identify a man they say committed a sex act in front of two students on campus.
UCF Police say that a man in a gray four door vehicle committed a sex act as two girls were in a car outside Parking Garage E.
Student Briana Garcia says, "I think it's just crazy because it's not like, it's not even like the whole student body's here yet and especially when its right by the athletic dorms it really has an effect."
Police have increased patrols looking for the man. They say the suspect may have followed the girls from a nearby McDonalds at around 3:30 this morning. As they finished their food in the car, that's when investigators say the man approached them.
Student McKenna Melville says, "Kinda of keep my eye out. That was kinda disturbing."
It's disturbing because another incident happened on Sunday. Officers say a guy groped a woman on campus. She fought back and used a blue light phone to call police. Student Sydney Brown says, "It's always scary because it's close to home."
The police chief is warning students to be on alert. Chief Carl Metzger says, "If someone's following you call us. If something's happening where the hair on the back of your neck stands up call us."
He says the man in this silver/gray Hyundai has shaggy, surfer style hair, is in his mid-20's, and is about 5'7. He was wearing a black hat, black shirt and khaki shorts when last seen. "I encourage you to look at that video, look at the description of the subject and please help us identify him."
Students say they will make sure to stick together as they get around campus. McKenna says, "I think having the patrols out is gonna help a little bit, but it's such a big campus, but at some point you just have to be smart about where you go, what you do. Just kinda keep an eye out."
