UCF police looking for groping suspect

University of Central Florida police are investigating after a woman reported that she was groped by a stranger on campus.

“It’s scary. It’s really scary,” said freshman Skye Federico, who says she knows the victim.

Investigators say it happened near the Mathematical Sciences building.

They say the female victim was the guest of a student at the school.

Officers say she left a bar off campus and walked back trying to find her friends.

They say she was lost for hours, and at around 3:30 a.m. someone inappropriately grabbed her from behind.

Police say the girl, who didn’t have her phone, used an emergency blue light phone on campus to call for help.

They say she was treated for a cut on her hand that she got after she hit the suspect.

The person who groped her ran away.

UCF Police tweeted about the incident Sunday, saying officers are increasing patrols.

They say students should be also be vigilant.
