ORLANDO, Fla. - A Palm Coast woman has been charged with manslaughter in the fentanyl overdose of a DeBary man that happened in May 2024.
What we know:
21-year-old Madeline Zinno has been in the custody of the Volusia County Branch Jail since June 2024. She was one of more than 3 dozen suspects arrested in connection to a major drug trafficking ring.
The VCSO Overdose Task Force has continued to investigate the overdose death of the 43-year-old man.
Detectives located social media communications between the man and Zinno which helped identify Zinno as the one who sold him drugs the night he died.
The investigation brought detectives to a witness who was present for the drug sale. The witness was able to describe the way the drugs were packed and labeled, which directly matched evidence found at the scene.
Detectives also gathered text, social media, and cell phone data proving Zinno sold the lethal dose of fentanyl.
She was charged with manslaughter on Tuesday at the jail, where she was already in custody and will remain held with no bond.
