NHC warns Hurricane Isaias could strengthen further as it approaches Gulf Coast

Hurricane Isaias strengthened into a Category 2 storm Thursday as it moved toward the northern Gulf Coast, where officials warned of dangerous flooding, storm surge, and damaging winds. Isaias had maximum sustained winds of 100 mph Thursday evening and could strengthen further overnight, Jamie Rhome, deputy director of NOAA’s National Hurricane Center, told FOX 35.
