FDA upgrades blueberry recall to highest-risk warning

More than 360,000 electric balloon pumps sold at Dollar Tree stores and online are being recalled because they can overheat, posing a burn hazard.
The recall was published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday.

The recall involves about 360,500 electric balloon pumps.
The pumps have two operating modes – continuous and touch-on – and are made of plastic. They are pink with a blue handle and have two nozzles.

The model number, 406198, is printed on a silver rating label on the bottom of the pump and on its packaging.
The pumps were sold at Dollar Tree stores nationwide and online at Dollar Tree and DoorDash from August 2025 through July 2026 for about $17.
Recall follows reports of overheating

The agency said the recall follows three reports of the pumps overheating. One report involved flames inside the unit, while another involved the pump exploding. No injuries have been reported.

The U.S. CPSC said consumers should stop using the pumps immediately and return them to any Dollar Tree store for a full refund. Customers who purchased the pumps online should contact Dollar Tree to receive a prepaid shipping label to return the product for a refund.
