Students outraged at University of Florida's new graduation commencement

- The University of Florida is trying to avoid another graduation fiasco. The school is making headlines after students were rushed off stage during a graduation ceremony earlier this year, but not everyone is happy with the solution to the problem.

Students were caught on camera being yanked off stage during the May commencement. Now, there's a plan to stop it from happening again. Graduates are no longer being allowed on stage. Under the new plan, students will no longer have individual name calling and walk across the stage.

Replacing the old tradition, there will now be a university-wide commencement where all graduates gather together, stand with their respective colleges, adn then have their individual moments in smaller ceremonies with their respective colleges.

Several students say this is the wrong reaction. University of Florida student Maia Kofman says that "I definitely believe it's a result of the scandal that happened earlier this year with the administration pushing students who were dancing off stage."

Students were so upset by the decision that they have started a Change.org petition. So far, it has more than 8,000 signatures. It has also help gain the attention of the university's president, who has now agreed to meat with students to discuss the changes.
