Spring storms bring hail, rain, and wind to Central Florida

Spring storms brought hail, rain, and wind to Central Florida on Wednesday.

Lots of people across the region are dealing with some serious home and vehicle damage thanks to the severe weather. Fox 35's Mike Magnoli spoke to a man in Brevard County whose car took quite the beating, with its back window completely shattered.

Neighborhoods across the county suffered severe damage as well, with several screened-in pools torn to pieces and trash cans scattered everywhere.

Joel Southwick, who lives in Brevard County now but is originally from Wyoming, told Fox 35 that the storms "kind of snuck up on us. It was really strong for about 15 minutes and then it kind of settled down. But, then it started up again and we got the smaller pieces."

Joel will need to purchase a new screen for his pool now. He said that "Our pool cover survived Irma with the wind and the rain, but this completely tore it up."

Many other Brevard County residents described the waves of hail as "violent."
