SpaceX to try again Friday after Falcon Heavy rocket test fire was scrubbed

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla, (FOX 35 Orlando) - SpaceX will try to test fire its Falcon Heavy rocket again after scrubbing it on Thursday night.
Experts are reporting that the new window for the static test fire opens at 10:00 a.m. 

Thursday night was a “no-go” for SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy rocket after a test fire was scrubbed. That means it will likely not blast off this weekend.

There’s still no official word from SpaceX or Elon Musk, but a source at NASA tells FOX 35 the static fire test for the Falcon Heavy has been scrapped, at least for Thursday night.Space fans set up shop in Canaveral National Seashore Thursday afternoon hoping for the perfect shot of the static test fire for the Falcon Heavy rocket.

“Always after the next image.”  Anthony Peritori is aware that for some people, “a launch is a launch is a launch but they're not, especially here. The sky is never the same.”

He was here when the Falcon Heavy had its first test launch last year in February, and he was looking forward to seeing its static test fire Thursday, set to last several seconds sometime between 6 p.m. and midnight.  But the web site NASA Spaceflight later announced the test fire was scrubbed. FOX 35 confirmed that with a source within NASA.

The test fire is now expected to happen sometime Friday, and that would likely move back the Falcon Heavy’s next launch, which was originally scheduled for Sunday.

Whenever it launches, space fans will still be here.

“It’s the evolution of the vehicle. It’s the most powerful rocket operational right now so that's a big deal.”

The Kennedy Space Center still has tickets available for the upcoming launch, but when you try to purchase them, the date listed is Tuesday.

Again, there is still no official new date from SpaceX or Elon Musk.
