Orlando man arrested in wife's murder

ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - An Orlando man has been arrested in the murder of his wife, whose body was found inside their Delaney Park home in April.

David Tronnes, 50, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Shanti Cooper-Tronnes, 39. 

On April 24, Orlando police officers responded to the home on 218 E. Copeland St., where they discovered Cooper-Tronnes dead in the shower.  Her grandmother, Marion Perry, said she had just had dinner with her the night before. 

"She loved everybody and laughed and enjoyed life and she trusted people," said Perry. 

Investigators determined the death to be a homicide, but there were a lot of unanswered questions at the time.  Authorities announced late Wednesday that Tronnes was in custody and had been formally charged in the case.  No further details were immediately released.

Perry said her granddaughter had been married to Tronnes for about a year. 

"I never knew they weren't getting along," Perry added. "I've been afraid of the man ever since."  

She said she misses her granddaughter every day.

"She was just one of those that God put for our pleasure, and when our pleasure was met, God took her home," she said.

Tronnes is expected to make his first appearance in court on Thursday.
