Fatal crash claims life of 38-year-old woman

Traffic was shut down in the area of 390 N. U.S. 1 after a crash claimed the life of a 38-year-old woman.

The accident happened Friday evening when the woman's car became disabled and was being pushed by friends.

According to Volusia County Sheriff's, around 8:45 p.m. Friday, another vehicle collided with Jennifer Lynn Foster of Oak Hill, as her friends were helping her get to safety.

Officials say that's when the driver of another vehicle collided with Foster, taking her life.

Authorities say the driver of the oncoming vehicle, 23-year-old William D. Seegar , was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

The two people who were pushing the disabled car did not require medical transport.

While the crash investigation is ongoing, the evidence at this point does not suggest that excessive speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
