Dangerous rip currents roll in, dozens rescued

Lifeguards have had to rescue dozens of people as dangerous rip currents roll into Ormond Beach.

Beach patrol says that the waves at Ormond Beach have been dangerous for the last few days. In fact, on Wednesday afternoon, a 61-year-old Michigan man Brian Snook in the area was pulled from the water by a lifeguard and they had to perform CPR on him. The man was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, but he unfortunately passed away. Several other dozens of people have had to be rescued from the water.

Beach patrol says that it is dangerous out there and it can even be deadly. If you do decide to swim, they advise that you swim near a lifeguard. And if you are not a strong swimmer, they say do not go out too far.
