Authorities investigating 2 overnight robberies across 2 Central Florida counties

Authorities are trying to figure out if two armed robberies in two Central Florida counties are connected.

The robberies happened some 23 miles apart, one in Volusia County and one in Orange County.

Deputies said two people targeted a RaceTrac gas station in Deltona. They are interviewing employees and reviewing security footage.

In Orange County, a similar scene unfolded at a 7-Eleven off of Maitland Boulevard in Orlando. Deputies said two male suspects in their late teens to early twenties barged into the store with guns demanding money.

They ran off on foot, but may have fled in a nearby getaway car.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. Both counties are working together with their investigative units to compare the two cases to see if there is a connection.
