Universal Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights begins

- Universal Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights is now open after kicking off the event on Friday, September 14th. This year, the event offers more haunted houses and scares than ever before.

The event also has a record-breaking number of nights, with a total of 36 in total. Operating from September 14th until November 3rd, guests will face 10 haunted houses, five scare zones, and one live show. These attractions will bring cinematic greats, slasher films, cult classics, and original nightmares inspired by the past to life.

Some of the attractions offered are:

  • The 'Stranger Things' haunted house, where guests will find themselves in the Upside Down. They will come face-to-face with the Demogorgon from the Netflix original series.
  • The 'Halloween 4: Return to Michael Myers' haunted house will transport guests to suburban town of Haddonfield, Illinois. Here, the infamous slasher Michael Myers is hungry for revenge.
  • The 'Poltergiest' haunted house, based of MGM's iconic supernatural horror film, will force guests to fend off spirits in the Freeling house as they cross into the light.
  • The 'Trick 'r Treat' haunted house will confront guests with the spirit of Halloween, as they must live by the rules or suffer the consequences of Sam.
  • The 'Horrors of Blumhouse' haunted house will put guests inside of two terrifying films by Jason Blum -- 'Happy Death Day' and 'The First Purge.'
  • Guests will also have the chance to experience five original haunted houses created by Universal Orlando's Entertainment team, including 'Dead Exposure: Patient Zero' 'Slaughter Sinema,' 'Carnival Graveyard: Rust in Pieces,' 'Seeds of Extinction,' and 'ScaryTales: Deadly Ever After.'

The scares do not stop there though, as scareactors are placed throughout the park in five scarezones. Two of these are based on classic '80s horror icons, MGM’s 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' and 'Revenge of Chucky.' The other three scarezones are 'Vamp 85: New Year's Eve,' 'The Harvest,' and 'Twisted Tradition.'

Adding to the excitement of Halloween Horror Nights 28 is 'Academy of Villains: Cyberpunk.' This live show returns for its third consecutive year with new dance, acrobatics, and theatrics. It feature a storyline that tests humanity against technology.
