Florida ranks near the bottom for how it treats teachers

Florida is not making the grade when it comes to how it treats its teachers, according to a new survey by Wallet Hub.

The survey looks at where teachers are most likely to thrive based on 'opportunity and competition' and 'work environment.'

The Sunshine State placed in the bottom five in the nation, coming in at number 47. Teachers unions say it shows a need for more money and more teachers, especially because classrooms are full. They say that teachers also no work year-to-year contracts, which does not provide any job security.

Teachers unions say that it is important everyone votes for public  education-friendly candidates this election year.
