Superhero window washers cheer up kids at hospital

Spider-Man and Captain America took a break from saving the world to hang out – literally – at Nemours Children's Hospital.

Ed Meza is usually a mild-mannered window washer, but today he said, “I am Thor, God of Thunder!”

Meza said being Thor is awesome.

“It feels amazing, especially making all the children happy.”

Meza is one of four window washers dressed as superheroes to entertain the kids at the hospital.

They dressed as Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man and Iron Man.

Quadir Anderson's mother, Malaika Frida, said seeing his heroes made it a super day.

“He saw them and - whoo! - he came to life,” Frida said. “So, it was therapeutic - soothing, relaxing, calmed him down, let him know everything is going to be okay even though you're still at the hospital. It brought a big smile to him, so it brought a big smile to me.”

The crew from A1 Orange Exterior Building Services has been cleaning Nemours’ windows since it opened in 2012.

Meza said it's great seeing the kids smile.

“Very happy to do this and make the children happy,” he said.
