Storm damage in Orange Co.

A storm left behind significant damage to homes in an East Orlando neighborhood, Sunday.

The National Weather Service reported wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour. One home in the Fieldstream North community sustained about $40,000 worth of damage after winds mangled its pool cage. Another homes garbage bins flew away, breaking a water line in the process.

“When I came out, the garbage cans flew and it broke my pipes outside,” said Jorge Rodriguez. “The water started gushing out and I had to go shut it down from the main.”

Other homes were untouched by the strong winds. The community’s Home Owners Association President said about 15 fences in the community were damaged in the neighborhood made up of 252 homes.
