2 injured in fiery crash

A fiery crash south of Orlando has sent two people to the hospital. Police are trying to find out how it all happened. Christian Largaespada, getting gas near the scene of the accident, said it's amazing that anyone could have survived this wreck. He said he’s never seen anything like it.

“No, no, not at all,” Largaespada said, “only like in video games or something - movies. But like that - I don't really know what to say. I hope the person's okay, that's all I can say!”

Police say, amazingly, the two people in the SUV did survive. Both went to the hospital, one with minor injuries, but the other with wounds they call life-threatening. Police praised the quick thinking of the first officers on-scene.

Orlando Police say the first officer who showed up on the scene found that SUV pinned under the truck, on fire. They say he used multiple fire extinguishers to put out the flames. The street, south of the Millenia Mall, was closed for hours while police cleared away the debris. Edwin Morales, looking at the wreck, said he’s stunned.

“It's insane though, to see something like that,” he said.

Police say they're investigating the crash to find out how the SUV wound up crushed under the semi.
