Weather Channel knocked off air due to hack

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Executives at Atlanta-based weather channel said their programming was taken off-the-air by hackers Thursday morning.

On the company's official Facebook, they claim they were a victim of a malicious software attack.

The attack appears to have taken the network off-the-air for a time Thursday morning.

The executives said they were able to recover and are back on-the-air.

They confirm federal authorities have been brought in to investigate the alleged attack.
