IT SUPPORT TECH – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Assist Fox Television Stations personnel with technical support of desktop computers and applications/related technologies, including the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop/laptop computers, mobile devices and peripheral technology. Ensure systems interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems and Active Directory resources. Back up station's IT Manager and assist with maintaining station's servers and network. Provide technical support for file servers on the primary Active Directory domain. Recommend and perform hardware and software upgrades on systems to ensure security, reliability, performance and longevity. Ensure system configurations and operations are in compliance with company policies and procedures. Maintain hardware/software inventories for all IT managed technologies. Work with support vendors to troubleshoot technical problems on PCs, servers and software. Assist with the creation and maintenance of technical documents used for planning and support of local servers and networks. Deploy new or upgraded technologies as defined in approved projects. Assist in information gathering associated with asset management and IT initiatives on an as-needed basis. BS/BA in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. 5+ years supporting Windows PCs, Servers, 3+ years supporting a user based >75 people, 2+ years basic IP networking. Familiarity with Technologies including OS–MS Windows, Server 2008/2012 and MS Windows 2007/2010; Hardware Platforms including HP Desktop and ProLiant Servers, Cisco Switches, Tablets and Smartphones; and Applications/Software including MS Office, McAfee Antivirus, Microsoft SCCM, Backup Exec, Ghost (or equivalent, and PGP disk encryption. Ability to resolve issues and isolate faults methodically, follow defined procedures and processes, deal with frequent change and unexpected events, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, exhibit sound and accurate judgment and logical reasoning, show initiative and learn quickly with little supervision.
ASSOCIATE PRODUCER – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Write stories for news programs and use across the station's digital platforms, including text stories, photos, links and related information. Select appropriate video and sound for stories on air. Assist anchors, reporters and producers in preparing stories for broadcast and the web. Produce newscasts as needed under management supervision. Seek out and identify engaging content and post on the station's social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Work with the assignment desk in gathering information from various news sources and determining the newsworthiness. Make decisions on what stories to cover and assign/dispatch crews as assigned. Keep news staff apprised of breaking news and changes in assignments. Make beat check calls to law enforcement and other governmental agencies. Communicate with affiliates to ensure continuity of coverage. College degree in an applicable discipline such as broadcast journalism or equivalent job experience. Strong creative writing skills and news and editorial judgment are a must. Must be proficient in social media and have an eye for content that will engage viewers on social media. Must be well organized, able to manage multiple projects and work well under deadline pressure. Must be able to deal effectively with people. Working knowledge of newsroom computer systems, the Internet, graphic and production equipment, and ENG & SNG remotes is strongly preferred.
PHOTOGRAPHER – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Shoots and edits video and audio for newscasts, news programming, promotion and other station related purposes. Operates ENG vehicles and equipment. Self-motivated, creative storyteller with strong photography and editing skills and a full understanding of live truck operations. Working knowledge of: P-2 camera systems and AVID/Adobe Premier edit systems, Dejero/LiveU backpacks, lighting and sound equipment, and newsroom computer systems considered a plus. At least 2 years' experience as a photographer/editor in a television news department is preferred. Willingness and ability to travel for story assignments. Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCER – (Temporary Full Time / Orlando): Conceptualize and produce high-profile, creative and engaging material for use across the station's digital platforms, including text stories, photos, links and related information. Post and engage users on the station's social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local news and breaking news stories, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing the above material into strong compelling digital content. Apply commonly-accepted standards of journalism. Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 2 years of online, mobile and social production management experience preferred. Expert knowledge of digital production, traffic reporting and ad serving systems. Solid understanding of online standards, design and usability. Skills in all areas of a/v digitizing, editing and encoding techniques. Position demands excellent online/social writing, video editing, interface design and production skills. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JSP, FLASH, Adobe Creative Suite and mobile applications. Ability to work under pressure as a cohesive member of a team. This is a Temporary position.
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Management of the editorial content and staff for assigned newscasts, along with the web site and social media platforms. Must demonstrate solid news judgment and creative writing and producing skills. Must be a leader with the ability to supervise and work with anchors, reporters, editors, producers and production crew to produce winning newscasts with clean on-air look. Decisive, authoritative leader with strong communication skills and the ability to build a strong team environment. Must be able to integrate social media with broadcast television. At least three years' experience working in a TV newsroom as a major market producer or smaller market news manager. Must be flexible and able to handle pressure and meet deadlines.
REPORTER/DIGITAL JOURNALIST – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Provide original news content for WOFL, WOGX, FOX35Orlando.com and various social media platforms by successfully accomplishing the following: gather news information including; conducting live and taped interviews; write stories and deliver news reports on-air, on-line and other media platforms. These platforms require the Digital Journalist to shoot and edit video and present material in an engaging manner. Must contribute to social media efforts; initiate research, and enterprise stories. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, have outstanding time management skills and complete required assignments on deadline. Strong working knowledge of technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools and non-linear editing such as AVID. A 4-year college degree is required with emphasis in Communications or Journalism and a minimum of three years’ experience preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license, must be able to meet driving requirements. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
