FINANCE

VP FINANCE – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Fox O&O WOFL-TV in Orlando, Florida is seeking a VP of Finance to lead our triopoly of stations. The position will have oversight of the personnel management of Finance and IT staff. The ideal candidate will be responsible as well for all financial functions to include management and supervision of all phases of accounting. Must be a highly motivated, hands-on controller. Manage day-to-day accounting functions (GL, AP, AR, PR, FA, tax packages, cash flow, forecasting, and all financial reporting). Manage monthly close, journal entries and account recs. Ability to adhere to SOX, accounting principles and internal controls. Prepare, direct and manage the annual budget process and coordinate with all departments regarding all station financial matters, capital projects and fixed assets. Coordinate and conduct internal audits. Manage and assist in negotiation of station purchases and contracts. BS in Accounting required. A minimum of 5 years hands-on accounting with management experience, preferably in the broadcast industry or with a major corporation. A CPA is preferred. Excellent communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Demonstrate high proficiency with the operation of personal computer and software applications, to include spreadsheet, financial and word processing (Microsoft Office Suite, JD Edwards/PeopleSoft and Wide Orbit). Independent thinker, detail-oriented, analytical, strategic and knowledgeable of ENG and IT systems. Ability to conceptualize, develop and implement strategic systems as a way to create efficiencies. Effective problem solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Local and national travel and a valid driver's license will be required. Confidentiality a must. NEWS

MULTI-MEDIA JOURNALIST – (Regular Regular Full Time / Gainesville): Provide original news content for WOFL, WOGX, fox35orlando.com and various social media platforms by successfully accomplishing the following: gather news information including; conducting live and taped interviews; write stories and deliver news reports on-air, on-line and other media platforms. These platforms require the Digital Journalist to shoot and edit video and present material in an engaging manner. Must contribute to social media efforts; initiate research, and enterprise stories. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, have outstanding time management skills and complete required assignments on deadline. Strong working knowledge of technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools and non-linear editing such as AVID. A college degree with emphasis in Communications or Journalism and a minimum of two years' experience preferred. Must have a valid driver's license, must be able to meet driving requirements. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

PRODUCER – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Produce and meet strategic goals for assigned newscasts. Create newscasts with impact by writing stories and teases creatively and effectively. Research and present compelling story ideas at daily editorial meetings. Utilize social media tools to engage and attract viewers. Strong creative writing skills and editorial judgment are a must. Working knowledge of newsroom computer systems, the Internet, graphic and production equipment, ENG & SNG remotes is desirable. College degree in an applicable discipline such as broadcast journalism. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a television news department producing newscasts. Must work well under deadline pressure during breaking news.

REPORTER/MMJ – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Provide original news content for WOFL, WOGX, fox35orlando.com and various social media platforms by successfully accomplishing the following: gather news information including; conducting live and taped interviews; write stories and deliver news reports on-air, on-line and other media platforms. SALES/TRAFFIC - Orlando

TRAFFIC ASSISTANT – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Assist with the preparation of the daily traffic log. This position will rotate and perform tasks at various stages of the preparation process. Duties will include ensuring commercial placement, verification of show program formats, commercial rotation, advertiser separation, assignment of copy to accounts and maximize sales revenue efforts. Other duties as assigned. AA degree or equivalent work experience. Ability to meet firm deadlines. Must have excellent organizational and people skills. Television traffic or related field experience preferred. Wide Orbit Traffic System and Excel experience are a plus.

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE – (Regular Full Time / Orlando): Develop understanding of FOX35, MY65 and fox35orlando.com products. This is a multi-platform sales opportunity responsible for increasing share on transactional accounts, generating new non-traditional business and online sales. Develop relationships with existing TV advertisers and their agencies. Produce and present effective sales strategies to existing and developed accounts that solve client problems and increase station revenues. College degree and a minimum of two years' work experience preferred. Candidate should possess top communication skills and be service oriented. Experience with new business development preferred. Knowledge of Scarborough, NSI, Wide Orbit, Media Sales, Rentrak and general computer skills a plus. Must have valid driver's license.

SALES - Gainesville

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE – (Regular Full Time / Gainesville): Develop understanding of FOX51's product. Market the station to the advertising community. Produce and present effective sales strategies to new, existing and developed accounts that solve client problems and increase station revenues. Develop relationships with new advertisers, existing TV advertisers and their agencies. College degree or equivalent work experience. Candidate should possess top communication skills and be service oriented. Experience with new business development preferred. Knowledge of Wide Orbit, Excel and general computer skills a plus. Must have valid driver's license. This position is in our Gainesville office.

Description: Fox Television Stations Sales is seeking applicants for its Sales Training Program. The overall goal of the Training Program is to provide an internal pool of talent for future Account Executive positions within Fox Television Stations and Fox Stations Sales. Individuals must commit to a three-year program and must be geographically mobile. Assignments during and after completion of the program may be in any of the Fox Stations Sales offices or Stations located throughout the continental United States.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assumes responsibilities for the retention and application of knowledge imparted through the training sessions and supplemental development modules.  
  • To gain the knowledge and training required for the position of an Account Executive within the Fox organization.
  • Assumes responsibility for the accuracy and consistency of work assigned and for its completion within the time schedules determined by the Program Trainer.
  • Assumes responsibility for the understanding and retention of knowledge of all Company policies and procedures pertinent to this position and as an Employee of the Company.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Formal educational background.
  • Aggressive self-starter with excellent communication, computer and organizational skills.
  • Two-three years prior related work experience.
  • Must be geographically mobile within the continental United States.
  • Must be able to commit to a three-year program and sign a Personal Services Agreement for up to three years.
