WB I-4 closing between Maitland Blvd. and Lee Rd. on Saturday night

The Florida Department of Transportation will be temporarily closing westbound lanes of Interstate 4 (I-4), between Maitland Boulevard (State Road 414) and Lee Road (State Road 423), from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. on March 17.

The westbound I-4 on-ramp from Maitland Boulevard and the westbound I-4 exit ramp to Lee Road is closing from 9 p.m. on March 16 through 5 a.m. the following morning. Motorists should expect nighttime lane closures on westbound I-4 to begin as soon as 9 p.m. on March 16.

The closures are necessary to accommodate a traffic shift of westbound I-4 between Maitland Boulevard and Lee Road

The westbound I-4 travel lanes from just south of Maitland Boulevard through Lee Road are shifting to the permanent configuration as soon as 5 a.m. on Sunday.

This shift will mark the first time both directions of I-4 will be in the final configuration at the same location.

The $2.3 billion I-4 Ultimate project is reconstructing 21 miles of interstate from west of Kirkman Road to east of State Road 434 in Longwood.
