Police say Goodwill clerk attacked

Oviedo Police say a 63-year-old man was just following company policy, doing his job, when a customer attacked him.

Police posted video of the attack on their Facebook page, in hopes someone will recognize the suspect.  The surveillance video clearly shows the suspect reaching across the counter, grabbing the cashier by his collar, pulling him closer before slamming the cashiers head and shoulder against the check out counter.

Records show it happened at the Goodwill Store on Alafaya Trail in Oviedo on Jan. 12, just before 5 p.m.

"He had exchanged some clothes and wanted to go through another exchange program to exchange again once he'd done the first exchange. The clerk told him it would take too long, he'd need to help other customers first," said Lt. Dennis Lynch.  He says the suspect suddenly became enraged and attacked the clerk.

The News Station has learned that the clerk is well liked and respected by his co workers and regular customers.  This incident left him a little banged up, his shirt ripped and his hand scratched and scraped

Oviedo Police say the suspect took off in a white four door Ford.  Goodwill''s spokesperson tells FOX 35 that they are fully cooperating in this investigation and they want this man caught.
