Orange County deputies investigate overnight homicide in Apopka

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office are investigating a homicide that happened overnight in Apopka. 

Deputies said that the incident happened around 4 a.m. on Sunday. They responded to the intersection of Marden Road and Marden Meadows Drive in Apopka. They found an unresponsive man on the ground and pronounced him deceased.

Deputies are reportedly investigating this as a homicide. 

People living at the apartments nearby said that they thought they heard shots early on Sunday morning. Cord Longenberger said that "In the middle of the night, we heard 'Pop! Pop! Pop!' I thought it was someone pounding on our door, and was like 'what is that?' My fiance said 'I thikn that was gunshots!"

Deputies have not released the victim's identity yet.
