With the help of a Marion County K-9, deputies were able to bust a drug dealer for the second time.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said that on March 15th, Deputy Struble observed a gold Ford Explorer traveling west on SW Beach Boulevard. The driver was noted to be 28-year-old Carl Bruce Harris, who had a suspended license at the time.

When Harris spotted Struble, he reportedly sped up rapidly. He came to a stop in the yard of a home located on Rainbow Lakes Boulevard. Struble observed Harris purposely lock his keys in the vehicle as he got out of it.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said that this is when K9 Deputy Tim Fretts responded with K9 Robo, who was alerted to a drug odor coming from the vehicle.

Harris reportedly told deputies that there were two firearms inside the vehicle. With this information, as well as Harris' extensive history for trafficking illegal drugs and dealing in stolen property, Deputy Struble obtained a search warrant for the vehicle.

Several items were found inside the vehicle. The Marion County Sheriff's Office said that those include: two firearms, $3,395, 35 grams of methamphetamine, 3 grams of heroin, 14 grams of LSD, .8 grams of cocaine, 75 grams of marijuana, 22 gabapentin pills, 36 clonazepam pills, and three alprazolam pills.

Harris was reportedly charged with Driving While License Suspended or Revoked, Armed Trafficking in Methamphetamine Over 28 Grams and Under 200 Grams, Possession of a Hallucinogen (LSD) With Intent To Sell, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Sell, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell, Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription and Possession of a New Legend Drug with Intent to Sell.

Harris was previously arrested in 2018 for armed trafficking, the possession of several drugs, and the intent to sell.
