Authorities in Osceola County are investigating what they are calling a suicide, which may be related to a double-shooting that happened in St. Cloud over the weekend.

One of the victims in that shooting, identified on Tuesday as 57-year-old Robert Latopolski, died from his injuries.

Investigators were searching for 49-year-old Rafael Perdomo Primera, believed to be the suspect in the shooting of his wife and Latopolski.  St. Cloud police officers were called to Cross Creek Court in the Sugar Mill Subdivision around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, where they discovered the two victims outside a home.

Primera was still on the run as of early Monday and police had warned that he could be armed and dangerous. As part of a follow-up investigation, St. Cloud police detectives visited a residence in Kissimmee that was tied to Primera.

Shortly after arriving at the home around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, they heard a gunshot coming from inside and backed away from the residence.  They immediately contacted the Osceola County Sheriff's Office and received assistance from their SWAT unit.

"SWAT eventually made entry, and we discovered a deceased male inside with an apparent gunshot wound," said Sheriff's Office spokesman Major Jacob Ruiz.

Ruiz said the Sheriff's Office is now conducting a suicide investigation and is working in tandem with the St. Cloud Police Department on their homicide investigation.  Authorities would not confirm if the suicide victim was Primera, but they said they strongly believe that to be the case.

"There's a high probability that is going to be him. We just have to confirm with the medical examiner," said Sergeant Frankie De La Rosa, with the St. Cloud Police Department. "I'm hoping once we get positive ID, it can bring closure to the family and know that he's still not out there."

Primera's wife, a 48-year-old woman who has not been named by police, remains hospitalized.
