ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Orange County Sheriff's Office has released video of a car they are now looking for in a possible connection to the murder of a 15-year-old Boone High School student. The teenager was fatally shot while walking to school on Tuesday morning.
In that surveillance video, a four-door sedan is seen making a U-turn, before speeding away. Detectives are hoping someone recognizes the car and calls them.
Alejandro Vargas Martinez was just a half mile away from school when he was gunned down. His friends and family say it's the same route he takes everyday.

Orange County sheriff's deputies are stepping up patrols and hunting for the gunman, as people in the neighborhood are worried about their safety. Deputies are asking neighbors to share any Ring video or other surveillance video they might have.
A growing memorial of candles, balloons, and bears left by students and friends of the teenager are out here on the fence of Boone High School. Fox 35 has spoken to those who knew Alejandro and they say he was a nice, polite teen who did not have any enemies. They say he was the kind of friend who made every person he came into contact with feel special about themselves.
People are absolutely heartbroken. They want to know why someone would gun down this teenager.
Alejandro's aunt, who says he preferred to be called Alex, said that the teenager was on the phone with his mother when the shooting happened. "It hurts because we never expected this could happen to such a kid, young, and it's very hard. And I don't have a clue why," the aunt said.
The aunt went on to say that Alejandro never got in trouble and that he was about to be promoted from bagger to cashier at Winn Dixie. On New Year's Day, he was going to turn 16.
Alejandro's aunt has made a GoFundMe page to cover funeral and memorial expenses.
A memorial fund has also been set up by Boone High School, in partnership with the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools. You can find more information about the memorial fund here.
