On Saturday, two dozen children with physical disabilities celebrated the holiday season by receiving specially-adapted toys.

The children and their families received the toys at a holiday party hosted by the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology (FAAST) Center at UCF.

Some of the most popular toys of the season, including the Adventure Force Dinosaur, Tickle Me Elmo and Gazillion Bubbles, were individually retrofitted with assistive technology to make it possible for the children to better access and control them.

The event was made possible through a partnership with ATMakers.org which teamed with high school robotics students to outfit the toys.
