Death investigation launched after body is found buried at Orange County home

Deputies are investigating after a body was found buried in the backyard of an Orange County home.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office says that on April 14, a body was discovered buried in the backyard of a residence on Glasgow Avenue, which is adjacent to Lake Floy.

Neighbors said they saw a SWAT team with the Orange County Sheriff's Office arrive at the home early Friday morning, and they began removing items from the home and digging in the back yard.

"I saw the SWAT team and they were always here digging, and they brought the excavator...just day and night, day and night," said neighbor Javier Gerena. "I was thinking exactly what everyone else was probably thinking -- that there was a body."

Neighbors said they have seen deputies at the house before.  According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies have responded to calls at the house 42 times since May of last year, including aggravated battery, suspicious incidents and verbal complaints.

No arrests have been made in this case, and deputies have not identified the body found.  Authorities are calling this an active death investigation.
