UCF football coach Scott Frost named Home Depot National Coach of the Year

- University of Central Florida (UCF) football coach Scott Frost was honored as the 2017 Home Depot Coach of the Year in College Football after leading the UCF football team to a perfect 12-0 season and an American Athletic Conference Championship.

Frost will be honored at Thursday night's ceremony for the 27th edition of the Home Depot College Football Awards presented by Gildan. It airs live on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET from the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-Fil-A Experience in Atlanta.

The 2017 campaign will always be memorable for UCF football fans, as Frost led UCF to its third American Athletic Conference title. The Knights led the nation in scoring and secured a bid to the 2018 Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on January 1st.

UCF finished the 2017 campaign as 10th in the nation in both the Associated Press and Coaches polls. That makes the program the highest ever ranking in the Coaches Poll and matching its highest in the AP Poll. The Knights were also 12th in the final College Football Playoff Rankings.

On Tuesday, Frost was also named the 2017 AFCA Regional Coach of the Year for FBS Region1 and a finalist for the 2017 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year Award from the Football Writers Association of America.
