Dolphins' Reshad Jones to get 2nd opinion on shoulder injury

Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones has been diagnosed with a shoulder injury that could end his season, and he plans to seek a second opinion.

The team expects to know more by midweek about the injury, which occurred during Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers .

Jones, a seven-year veteran, was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in 2015. He led the Dolphins and all NFL defensive backs last year with 106 solo tackles, and has 31 this season.

He made his first interception of the year against Pittsburgh. His injury could further deplete a secondary already without rookie starting cornerback Xavien Howard because of a knee injury.

Jones hasn't missed a game because of injury in the past five seasons.
