Baseball returning to Osceola County Stadium

There was big baseball news at  Osceola Heritage Stadium in Kissimmee Wednesday where it was announced minor league baseball will return next year.
It was once the home of the Houston Astros Spring Training…but will now have a new team.
"We're thrilled to be in Central Florida," said Team President Joe Harrington. "It's a great and growing market with a passionate fan base."
Tom and Rebecca Winters own the Brevard County Manatees, which is affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Manatees currently play in the same stadium where the Washington Nationals play in Viera, however the Winters decided to relocate the team to Osceola County after a series of events.
"The Astros from here and Nationals combined decided to go to a one team conference," Tom Winters said. "So they're going to go to Palm Beach Gardens."
Team President Joe Harrington says the team will have a new name through a contest it's promoting. He says, it's important to have a local brand. "I want to assure you this is Central Florida's team. It's not Milwaukee or Houston's team; we're not going to be leaving after 6 months of training. Our staff's going to be here 12 months a year."

The owners say they plan to finish out the season in Brevard then move here in September.
