ORLANDO, Fla. -- Victor Oladipo scored 19 points and Nik Vucevic added 18 points and 10 rebounds to help the Orlando Magic beat the Boston Celtics 110-91 on Sunday night for their third straight victory.
The Magic reserves took control in the second and third quarters, helping Orlando outscore Boston 63-47 during that time to take an 84-67 lead into the fourth. Oladipo and Nicholson combined for 25 points, 10 rebounds and four assists during that run.
Oladipo played his third straight game as a reserve and had eight rebounds and six assists. The Orlando bench outscored Boston's 56-31.
The Celtics got within 12 points twice in the last 5 minutes behind seven straight points from Thomas but never got closer.
Boston played the first of a five-game road trip and was lethargic in getting to Magic shooters and even slower going after misses. The Celtics were outrebounded 54-34, and the Magic used 17 offensive rebounds to record 26 second-chance points to just 11 for Boston.
Both teams stumbled out of the gate, combining for 14 turnovers and 0-for-10 shooting on 3-pointers in the first quarter.
Orlando righted the ship faster in the second period, shooting 58.3 percent (14 of 24) and hitting four 3-pointers to take a 53-45 halftime advantage. Nicholson had a pair of threes and 10 points at halftime.
