TSA focusing on powders in carry-ons

The TSA will start scrutinizing your carry-ons even more, specifically focusing on what powder you have in your bags.

They will look at containers holding at least 350 milliliters of powder, which is about the size of a can of soda. Agents are urging people to pack larger containers in the checked bags and take out smaller containers when they head through the security checkpoint, just like you have do for liquids.

The TSA says that they are not doing a powder ban, but instead are just stepping up their focus on powders, including cosmetics, baby powder, and energy or protein mixes. Gun powder is never allowed in checked or carry on bags.

This added screening is not just happening in the U.S. The TSA is asking all non-stop international flights to our country to start looking at powders starting June 30th.
