ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - One death and 16 injuries reported -- all because of the problem with "kidde" fire extinguishers.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the plastic handles and the push buttons of these can get clogged. If that happens, the extinguishers might not work during an emergency.
Nearly 38 million extinguishers are on the recall list. The recall involves 134 models made between 1973 and August of this year.
In addition to the extinguishers not working, the nozzle can come off with enough force to kill you.
