GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say human remains were found in a wooded area near a home in Gainesville.
The discovery was made Sunday by a homeowner who called the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
In a news release, investigators say they found some "articles of evidence" at the scene.
The Gainesville Sun (http://bit.ly/1nMA9vR ) reports the gender and identity was not immediately clear. Deputies will work with the medical examiner and the University of Florida C.A. Pound Human Identification Laboratory to help identify the body and determine a cause of death.
