Search for suspect after Rodeo Night Club shooting in Mount Dora

Mount Dora police are actively searching for a suspect wanted for murder, in connection with the shooting death of 31-year-old Jeremiah Barriner. Police said it happened Saturday morning outside the rodeo country music night club in Mount Dora.
"I'll miss him," Jimmy Barriner, Jeremiah's father, told Fox 35. "I'll miss him."

Jimmy Barriner is a father who now has to do the unthinkable -- live without one of his sons, 31-year-old Jeremiah Barriner.

"I still don't believe he's dead right now. But, he's gone. I've got to learn to accept it," he said Saturday morning.

He said his son was a loving family man who always had a smile on his face and was well liked.

"He's very quiet. He didn't bother nobody," he said, as he described his son.

According to police, at 1:42 a.m., Saturday, police were called to the Rodeo Country Music Nightclub when they heard shots in the parking lot and saw Jeremiah laying on the ground. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Witnesses told police they saw a dark colored car quickly leave the lot. A friend of Jeremiah's of 15 years told Fox 35, off camera, that she believed Jeremiah was trying to be helpful and break up a fight that night.
His father's trying to comprehend why this happened.

"You've got to get out there and work to get what you want. That's the only thing my son was doing. And, they took his life," he said.

Authorities said there is an active arrest warrant for 1st degree murder for 24-year-old Jose Margarito Aguirre IV. Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect.

"I hope they get him and throw the book at him, because it don't make no sense," Barriner said.

Barriner said his son worked two different jobs to support his family. One job in the day time and would go to another job at nigh. All to support his children whom his father said he he loved dearly.

"He always worked and thought about his family...his children," Barriner said of his son. "Five kids. He always thought about them."

In the wake of this tragedy, Barriner said he hopes it can be a learning point.

"What I want the world to do -- these young people, they need to get together and stop their wrong-doing. They need to change their lives and do something."

Barriner said his family needs help paying for his son's funeral expenses.

Police said if you know where Aguirre is call Mount Dora Police or Crimeline at 1800-423-TIPS.
