Reid calls for Grayson to drop Senate bid

U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson is refusing to drop out of the race for a Senate seat in Florida.  Grayson on Friday angrily denounced U.S. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid for saying the Orlando-area congressman should end his bid to replace U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.

Grayson said Reid was relying on "false" and "misleading" news stories to pressure him out of the race. He says he questioned Reid's own morality to "sink so low as to engage in such a smear."

Grayson's business activities have come under scrutiny for the past several months. The New York Times on Thursday reported that Grayson promoted his international travels, some with congressional delegations, to solicit business for his hedge fund.

Grayson maintains he is the "clear choice" of Democrats.  Grayson is challenging U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, of Jupiter, for the Democratic nomination.
