Desantis calls for resignation of Orange County committee member

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis is calling on an Orange County official to resign.

It comes after a racially charged post on social media about democratic candidate Andrew Gillum. According to the website 'Politico,' DeSantis is calling for the resignation of Orange County Republican Committee Member Kathy Gibson in reference a meme posted. The meme said that Gillum wants "his people" to be "paid back for slavery."

Gibson has since deleted the post and posted on Facebook that her account had been hcaked. Politico called Gibson after Commissioner Regina Hill saw the post.
