Passengers sent to hospital with serious to possibly critical injuries after toll booth crash

A vehicle headed through the Three Lakes Toll Plaza near mile marker 236 in Osceola County slammed into one of the toll booths, seriously to possibly critically injuring the car occupants.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says that a vehicle was traveling northbound approaching the toll plaza when the driver, for unknown reasons, struck the attenuator that protects the toll booth.  The vehicle caught fire after impact.

FHP says that all occupants got out of the vehicle and that the Osceola Fire Department responded and put out the vehicle fire. All occupants were taken to area hospitals with serious to possibly critical injuries.

All southbound toll lanes are open and there are only two toll lanes open northbound.
