Palm Bay babysitter charged in 5-year-old's drowning death

A Palm Bay babysitter was arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter in connection with the drowning death of a 5-year-old girl.

22-year-old Jacqueline Chiara Bjorndal was arrested in connecting with the November 25 drowning death of Aubrey Alcott, who police say was in Bjorndal’s care at the time.

Bjorndal was babysitting for the family when she came outside to discover Alcott in the pool. At some point, the 5-year-old girl was able to get into the pool on her own, where she later drowned.

Bjorndal is being held at the Brevard County Detention Center without bond.
